Annual Veterans First Celebration benefit (Winchester, VA)

June 5, 2008
5:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Winchester, VA

Event Description:
The Annual Veterans First Celebration Benefit is three and a half hours of music, entertainment, and special speakers for the purpose of bringing attention and honor to our men and women who are now serving in the United States Uniformed Services, those who are returning from war in Iraq and Afghanistan, those deployed around the word, and all other U.S. military veterans.

Bands will play live music, a raffle awarded, guests briefly speak between songs, entertainment for the kids, and the Army National Guard will be present equipment displays and answer questions. The three hour event highlights the accomplishments of our heroes back here at home as well as builds awareness of the challenges that many face on return.

Benefit Purpose:
The benefit event is to raise funds and awareness for Camp Hero, a project of American Heroes Return. The program is dedicated to assisting military men and women in their transition from the war zone back to peacetime America, especially those in recovery from PTSD and permanent disabilities. It has gained immediate and significant attention from Congress to the Pentagon to the U.S. military and is based right here in North Carolina.
