OTIS Fund Established

"Can Do"
AHR is quickly becoming an organization with a reputation of "can do" when it comes to short term assistance for veterans.
We received a call from a VA Med Center social worker sharing with us a need of a local veteran family. It is exciting to know that the VA is looking towards our organization as one they can turn to as a resource for our veterans.

OTIS
As a result, we've established the One-Time Immediate Sustenance (OTIS) fund to assist veteran families in moving past an immediate financial hurdle while on a path of recovery. This fund is not to be used for periodic or recurring needs, but rather to augment what agencies are doing to assist the veteran long term by meeting immediate food, housing, and other needs in the short term.

Current Need
The current need involves a family where the husband is a veteran being treated for PTSD and a short term cash and good infusion is needed to augment the current services they are being provided. Making the rest of the rest to keep the kids under a roof and provide for their nutrition and other needs is critical.

Wings
The OTIS fund is getting its "wings" now working with veterans not involved with the Camp Hero project, but once we have veterans on-site at our farm, we will shift the fund towards those veterans who are with us in a transitional phase.

Take Action
We ask that when you make your donation online, you then forward that email receipt to otis@americanheroesreturn.com so that your gift can be directed to that fund. And of course, you can mail gifts in the form of gasoline gift cards, retail store gift cards, etc., as you desire.
