The
Message
AHR has launched a Veterans Public Awareness &
Advocates Corps, inviting those individuals across
American who want to support active and inactive
military veterans by sharing their voice and our
message in their communities.
Getting the Word Out
As many good things begin, the idea for the
Advocates Corps developed from discussions with
volunteers in other states who continued to ask
"What can we do?"
Marching Orders
In
response to that, we've put together a plan to
provide structured information to our corps of
volunteers, as well as instructions on how to engage
the community, so that they can do their part to
make Americans aware of veteran's challenges, needs,
and successes and contributions.
The concept is basic.
-
An individual or group of individuals want to
serve as Veterans Public Awareness & Advocates.
-
We provide talking points, power point
presentations, and other materials.
-
The Advocates engage with the community.
-
That information leads someone to direct a
veteran in need to the resources that will
improve their connection with the VA, their
health, employment, or other circumstance.
Our latest members are:
-
Cassandra, Laredo TX
-
Jeffrey, Tucson AZ
-
Neha, Memphis TN
-
Ietta, Kingwood TX
-
Marian Hudgins, Baltimore MD
