Saving Lives
Since
information can lead to action and action can lead
to lifesaving assistance, AHR is extending an open
invitation to all those receiving this newsletter to
invite us to share with your civic, employment,
faith, or circle of friends the challenges and needs
of our military heroes.
Telling the Story
These
coffee meetings or larger group presentations are
not designed for nor directed towards fundraising.
They are opportunities for those of us here at AHR
to first educate individuals on the reality of what
veterans face when returning from Iraq, Afghanistan,
and other conflict zones, as well as what veterans
from previous service times encounter every day.
America Wants to Know
What
we have found over the last six months is that
Americans, when informed about the reality on the
ground for veterans here in the U.S., want to know
more and do more. But it all begins with a
discussion of what the challenges are. Then it leads
to healthy discussion on what some of the solutions
are.
We Hear From You
Within the meetings, what usually comes to the
surface are experiences that either the participants
have had directly as veterans, or what their
experience have been with family members and
friends. Some experiences are recent, some date back
to the second world war. But the common thread is
that military service impacts nearly everyone in
some way. And the more we all know, the more
assistance we can be to veterans.
Open Invitation
So,
the invitation is out there. From a small meeting
with a couple of your close friends and their
husbands and wives over coffee to a hall full of
rowdy bikers, high school auditorium to seniors
center, work conference room to a church
congregation, we are here to serve you and our
veterans with information.
